Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking an experienced Mine Accountant to join their team in a hands-on, operationally focused role. This is a 12-month contract best suited to someone available to start immediately.

The Role

This role will see you working closely with site-based operational teams to provide financial insights, cost control, and performance analysis across mining operations.

Duties include

• Operational Accounting – Support site operations with financial reporting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Develop site budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making
• Project & Cost Analysis – Monitor project costs, capital expenditure, and contractor performance to optimise financial outcomes
• Financial & Management Reporting – Prepare and present financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with site managers, and corporate finance to drive financial efficiency
• Process & System Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and financial systems

• CA or CPA qualified 
• Proven experience as a Mine Accountant or Site Accountant within a mining operation
• A process improvement mindset, always seeking ways to enhance efficiency.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with site teams and senior management
• Flexibility to travel to site as required
