    Our client, a renowned Health Service Provider with an enviable reputation and a long history of success in the Australian market, is seeking an experienced payroll professional. With a payroll of over 6,000 employees, the successful candidate will lead a payroll transformation to support the organisation's vital community services. This role involves modernising payroll processes, systems, and governance to enhance efficiency and compliance.
      
    This role is starting as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract however there is a long term opportunity for the right person.
      
    The Role
       
    As the National Payroll Transformation Manager, you will lead the end-to-end optimisation and modernisation of our client’s payroll function. This includes system improvements, automation initiatives, process re-engineering, and governance enhancements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll operations.
       
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage a team of payroll specialists to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across the organisation.
    • Lead payroll transformation by overseeing strategic projects to enhance payroll processes, systems, and reporting.
    • Identify and oversee training-needs for the payroll team to drive continuous learning and development.
    • Optimise payroll systems and technology by identifying opportunities for automation, integration, and efficiency improvements.
    • Drive compliance and best practice by ensuring payroll aligns with legislation, industrial agreements, and best-in-class governance.
    • Enhance employee experience by implementing solutions that improve payroll accuracy, transparency, and employee engagement.
    • Manage all ad-hoc, month end and year end reconciliations, reporting and related activities.
    • Engage stakeholders by working with Finance, HR, IT, and external vendors to deliver seamless payroll solutions.
    • Manage change and training by guiding the organisation through payroll transformation and upskilling teams along the way.
    About You
       
    You have proven payroll leadership experience with a track record in payroll transformation, optimisation, or project management. You possess strong knowledge of payroll platforms, automation tools, and process re-engineering. You are an analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to assess payroll operations, identify gaps, and implement practical solutions. You are confident in engaging with senior leaders, operational teams, and external providers. Experience in healthcare, aged care, or large multi-site organisations is highly regarded but not necessary.
