Our client is a well-established organisation in the community services sector, currently undergoing a period of exciting transformation and growth. With a strong reputation and a mission-driven focus, they’re offering a fantastic opportunity for a driven Senior Accountant to join their team in a pivotal role supporting service delivery through high-quality financial processes and reporting.

The role will be starting as a 12 month fixed term contract.

    The Role

Based in North Brisbane, this newly created role will report through to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Manager – Community Accounting to lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a small finance team. The focus will be on ensuring accurate revenue recognition, robust data consolidation, and meaningful financial reporting for a range of service streams.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Leading and supporting a small team of Assistant Accountants, overseeing their daily billing and reporting activities
    • Maintaining and improving master spreadsheets and billing templates
    • Managing reconciliations and the consolidation of data from various systems to ensure revenue is accurately captured
    • Preparing month-end accrual data and assisting with detailed analysis and reporting for operational teams
    • Supporting regular updates of pricing data

    • Supporting documentation of processes and providing cover during team leave
    About You

You're a confident and capable accountant with experience in complex, high-volume environments, and ideally some exposure to revenue recognition, billing processes or service-level reporting. You enjoy coordinating others and driving improvements in systems and reporting.

    You bring:
    • A collaborative and hands-on approach
    • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with multiple systems
    • Great attention to detail and an eye for process improvement
    • Previous experience managing or mentoring junior staff (formal or informal) is a bonus
    • Previous Not for Profit experience will be highly regarded
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with purpose, impact and the chance to help shape the way financial operations support service delivery.
